Travel / Exchange Fellowships

The BACR Travel/Exchange Fellowship scheme provides an excellent opportunity for researchers in the UK to spend time learning new techniques and gaining experience in another laboratory. The time I spent in Boston was a stimulating one, both from a scientific and personal point of view, and I would strongly encourage BACR members who are eligible to consider submitting Exchange Fellowship applications.

Purpose: These Fellowships enable BACR members to visit institutions other than their own for the purposes of lecture tours, courses or to carry out collaborative work. They are not available for meetings or conferences. Visits may be abroad or within the UK and the Fellowships may be used for travel and/or living expenses.

Value: Up to a maximum of £2,000. If other sources are providing funds, evidence of these should also be provided. All receipts must be returned along with a written report that may be published in the Association's newsletter.

Eligibility: Available to individuals who have been BACR members for at least one year at time of application. Open to all members but with preference given to individuals of 40 years of age, or under, or with less than 5 years post-doctoral experience. Members may apply for a second award at least 3 years following the initial award.

Deadline: 31/10/2010
