The BACR exists to provide educational and training opportunities for all those involved in the cancer field, particularly the next generation of cancer research professionals. Although the Association does not fund research programmes directly, BACR facilitates the training and exchange of ideas that is so crucial in tackling a disease that does not respect international or interdisciplinary boundaries. As an Association we are not actively involved in fundraising, but welcome any donations that will be used directly to further our mission in the fight against cancer.

BACR organises several meeting each year on topics of current interest in the cancer field, and provides support to members organising their own cancer related meetings. The Association provides financial support for its members through a number of schemes. BACR supports attendance and presentation of research findings at national and international meetings, and supports international scientific exchange by providing funds to assist visits and secondments to other laboratories to learn new techniques and exchange ideas.
