Applicants for all BACR Awards should email their applications and related documentation to: bacr@leeds.ac.uk with BACR Award Application written in the subject line.
The closing dates for applications are: 28 February, 30 June and 31 October.
Applicants can expect to hear the outcome within a month of the closing date.
In situations where the applications are in excess of the funds available, the following criteria will be viewed favourably, although the Awards Committee will exert flexibility of judgement:

The BACR Travel/Exchange Fellowship scheme provides an excellent opportunity for researchers in the UK to spend time learning new techniques and gaining experience in another laboratory. The time I spent in Boston was a stimulating one, both from a scientific and personal point of view, and I would strongly encourage BACR members who are eligible to consider submitting Exchange Fellowship applications.

Purpose: To provide funds to support travel to a laboratory and reasonable subsistence costs, to enable the applicant to advance an on-going programme or facilitate a collaboration which may lead to new programmes of work. The fellowships are not intended to support attendance at a meeting.
Value: Up to a maximum of £3,000. If other sources are providing funds, evidence of these should also be provided. All receipts must be returned along with a written report that may be published in the Association's newsletter.
Purpose: Primarily to help non-student members to attend scientific meetings relevant to cancer research.
Value: Up to a maximum of £800. Bursaries will cover 2nd class overland fares or APEX air-fare (if applicable), registration fees and cost of accommodation. The total sum requested should be stated in the application. However, as it is unlikely that the cost will be met in full, applicants are encouraged to seek additional awards or support from their home institution. Evidence of other funding obtained should also be provided. All receipts must be returned along with a written report that may be published in the Association's newsletter.
Eligibility: Available to all individuals who have been BACR members for at least one year at time of application. Applicants will be expected to submit an abstract and to present their work at the relevant meeting and should submit copies of the abstract with their application. The Association should be appropriately acknowledged on any poster or presentation. Members may apply for a second award at least 2 years following the initial award.

The Association should be appropriately acknowledged on any poster or presentation. Individuals may apply for up to 2 bursaries, one for a national meeting and one international meeting during the period of student membership. Since this is likely to fall in two subsequent years, it should be noted that upon election to full membership (if 2 awards have been allocated) then 2 years would have to elapse before applying for a meeting bursary.
