About the role:
An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Centre Manager to join the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) Operations team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, developing and operationally managing Manchester’s Centre for Early Detection programme: MCRC/Manchester Early Recognition of Cancer and Decision Options (MERCADO), which is part of Cancer Research UK’s International Cancer Early Detection (ICED) Alliance.
This is an alliance convened to enable collaboration between six world-leading institutions in the UK and USA.
This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of the MERCADO operational framework within the ICED Alliance, for the high-level project management, and implementation of processes relating to the programme. The post holder will be responsible for the project management of the three scientific work packages within the MERCADO programme.
You should be educated to degree level in a scientific discipline or other relevant subject (or equivalent relevant experience) along with significant experience of working in an academic, industrial, research funding or research management setting.
They are looking for an organised, dynamic and self-motivated individual to lead on the management of this newly established programme within Manchester, and across into our UK/US partner organisations as part of the Alliance.
It is essential that you have significant experience of working within and managing complex multi-partner projects. You will be educated to degree level in a scientific discipline (or have the equivalent relevant work experience).
