About the role:
They are currently seeking to appoint a Scientific Officer 2 within the Molecular Biology Core Facility. You will work as part of a team of service providers to support the groundbreaking research at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute and will contribute to these services in a flexible and diligent manner. The position will involve all stages of molecular biology workflows from sample QC to quantitative genomic and transcriptomic analysis using the Facility’s high throughput instrumentation.
You will be educated to degree level in a biosciences subject (or equivalent relevant experience). You will have experience in a range of molecular biological techniques and also have good knowledge of routine work practices in molecular biology. You will have relevant experience in working in a Life Science Laboratory and display key qualities including independent thinking, ability to work in a team and good communication skills, all of which are needed to efficiently work in a multidisciplinary team.
