About the role:
They are currently looking for a Principal Clinical Informatician within the Digital Experimental Cancer Medicines Team. Fast delivery of data and analytics is a key part of our strategy to becoming a leader of clinical research in phase I trials. The CRUK Manchester Institute Centre for Cancer Biomarker Sciences and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust Research Division are partners within the Manchester Cancer Research Centre to an £11.5m partnership between The University of Manchester Institute of Cancer Sciences and AstraZeneca, to bring real time decisions to phase I clinical trials during a project called iDECIDE.
The aim of this post is to drive digital innovation to change the conduct of experimental cancer medicine clinical trials and the role of patients within these trials. You will have a broad range of science, informatics and leadership skills. Using these skills, you will lead innovation within clinical trials by delivering proof of concept digital solutions and providing clinical data analysis.
You will be excited about the potential for technology to benefit cancer patients. You should have a PhD in a scientific or mathematics discipline or a relevant postgraduate degree plus significant relevant experience in clinical data management and information systems. You will have experience of managing patient data, knowledge of clinical data standards and will have developed systems used in clinical studies. You are someone who enjoys working in a small team where collaboration and problem solving are key to delivering our portfolio of technology clinical trials.
