The Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) and the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) network will be hosting a three-day conference on Phase I trials in oncology, at Hilton Deansgate, in Manchester city centre. Our keynote speakers are Dr Lillian Siu (Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto) and Dr Howard “Skip” Burris (Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Nashville). Other confirmed speakers include Professor Pamela Munster (UCSF, USA), Professor Steven Jones (Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre, BC Cancer, Canada), Dr Charles Ferte (Medimmune), Professor Dave Raben (University of Colorado, USA) and Dr Reno Debets (Erasmus Medical Centre, Netherlands).
Early phase clinical trials are undergoing a rapid evolution in oncology with novel designs, new targets and increased response rates. Six themes in drug development, early phase clinical trials and translational science in oncology will be explored during the conference.
